We all have that one student (or 10) that starts crying hysterically when someone cuts them in line or they forgot their homework or even when their pencil breaks. Sometimes the student’s reaction doesn’t match the severity of their problem.
So I created this interactive anchor chart that students can use to evaluate their responses to a problem. On the left there are examples of Big, Medium and Small sized problems. On the Right are examples of the reactions. In the middle there is a scale of 1-10 where the student can rate the severity of the problem they are experiencing and rate the level of their reaction. The numbers are color coded to match the description of the problems and reactions. The students can then compare the numbers to see if their reaction was in the same range as their problem.
There are three different versions. Each version contains a different color scheme and cute Sad Kidlette Melonheadz clip art. The best part… It’s FREE! Hopefully you and your students will find this helpful as you finish out these last weeks of school!
